Adam Aircraft Industries is headquartered near the Centennial Airport in Englewood, Colorado. Founded in 1998, the company is revolutionizing airplane manufacturing with the first twin-engine carbon-fibre airplane. The A500 is a six-seat, pressurized, centreline thrust carbon composite aircraft. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification of the A500 is expected in 2003, and at that point Adam Aircraft can fulfil on the more than $30 million in orders already received. According to Rick Adam, CEO of Adam Aircraft, the typical customers are owner-operators who are already flying their own planes, and are looking to upgrade to the advancements in electronics and composite materials offered by the A500.
