Walter a.s. (Motorlet)

Walter a.s. is a manufacturer of aircraft and industrial turbine engines as well as high-tech medical products.

History

1920: Walter is established in Prague-Jinonice.
1946: Walter is nationalized and renamed Motorlet.

1964: Piston engine production handed over to AVIA.

1995: The company is renamed Walter.

Motorlet M701

In 1956 Motorlet began design work on a turbojet to power military trainers. The resulting M701 first flew on the Aero L-29 Delphin in 1960. The M701 was in production from 1961 to 1992 with over 4,500 units being delivered.
