Rodders has nearly 10,000 hours on a huge variety of RAF types. Initially flying operationally with the Canberra B(I)8, he then flew the Victor 2 (Bs) and tanker AAR standards before spending the rest of his career as an examiner and 'trapper' with CFS.

Instructing jobs included QFI JP, Strikemaster and BN2 (both SOAF), RAF CFS Staff QFI, QFI Bulldog (ULAS), CFS Exam Wing Staff Examiner, CIRE JPs, Tucano and SEPs.

With some 1200 hours on Bulldogs alone, Rodders still has the same boyish enthusiasm with which he entered her majesty's employ many years ago!
