The Socata Tampico, Tobago & Trinidad
Design work on what became the
'Caribbean' series of TB singles began in the mid-1970s, with a prototype
TB10 flying on 23rd February 1977. Production began in 1978 of three
distinct versions of the series.
The TB9 Tampico is marketed as a trainer, with a number of versions
available. The TB10 Tobago and TB200 Tobago XL have faired undercarriage,
higher weights, a higher level of interior equipment and more powerful
engines. At the top of the range is the TB20 Trinidad and TB21 Trinidad TC,
again with more powerful engines.
Over 1500 built including over 450 Tampicos/Tampico
Clubs, over 720 Tobagos and 660 Trinidads and Trinidad TCs.
