night rating

Experience:
Those wishing to obtain their night rating have acquired a minimum 20 hours of pilot flight time including at least 10 hours of night flight time, five of which must be dual time, including  two  cross country. In addition, 5 hours of night solo time is required, including 10 take-offs, circuits and landings. 10 hours of dual instrument time is also required.

Up to five hours of instrument ground time may be credited towards dual instrument time.

Skill:
Night rating applicants will have achieved a level of skill specific to the Flight Instructor Standard.

Credits:
If you have a license endorsed for night rating in another aircraft category, the 20 hour pilot flight time will be reduced to a minimum of five hours, including a minimum two hours dual night flight time, one hour solo night flight time and one hour dual instrument time.
